How to find and download albums

First step

Find an album that you wanna download.
How to do this?
Google the name of the artist plus the name of the cd or album
But this may take you to review sites and to paid download sites.
You want it for free however.
To find free downloads google the name of the artist , the name of the album and then add the words rapidshare or megaupload or mediafire.

Whoa! Hang on there !. Whats this mediafire , megaupload rubbish.

These are sites where nice people have uploaded the albums and the albums are stored for others to download.
But there is one big problem.You cant search these sites directly for something to download .
Someone has to provide you with a specific link that will take you to the website and to the album you wanna download.
The link might look this. www.rapidshare/acdcbackinblack or something even more obscure.
So how do you find these links?
Easy.Blogs are good way to find these links.
Someone may have stared a blog/website on their favorite band or style of music and have put links on there where you can download the albums.


Second step

Google the name of the artist plus the name of the album plus the word "blogger or " blogspot or" blog".
For example say you wanna  find MINDFUNKS "DROPPED" album , you would google "mindfunk dropped blogger ".
A list of blogs would appear that discuss this album and hopefully one of them will provide a link to where you can download the album.

Third step

Lets assume you have found a download link for the album you want. What to do next?
Simply click on the link and you will be taken to the site where the album has been uploaded and stored.
Try one now for yourself.Go to the following blog on the band MINDFUNK and click on one of the download links.

 You will arrive at the Rapidshare site where you have a choice to download the album for free or pay for a quicker download.You dont have to sign up to download.
Click on the free download button and after about a minute your pc should pop up with the save menu. Click save file and the download will start. It may take 10 minutes to an hour to download the album depending on your internet speed.

Fourth step 




After you have downloaded the file you may notice that it has the extension of ".rar".
Whats this? Wheres my music?
Dont worry. This just means the file was zipped to make it smaller so it could be uploaded and downloaded faster.
All you need to do is unzip it.
You will need a program to do this.The one I recommend is 7zip which is free and you can get it here.
After you have downloaded and installed 7zip go to your rar file, right click it ,go to 7zip and click on
extract to "name of artist/album"

You will now see a new folder. This is where your mp3 files are stored.
All you have to do now is burn the songs you want to a blank cd using your cd/dvd burner software

not about torrents

This site wont teach you how to download using torrents and programs like utorent

I find it too technical and useless if you don't have a really fast internet connection

However if you want to download music the  "old skool " way read the above.
